What installation requirements should you confirm before ordering industrial storage lockers?

Before ordering industrial storage lockers, confirm available dimensions, door clearance, delivery access, floor condition, fixing needs and workplace safety requirements.

We can review these points through a site meeting or survey, then prepare written proposals and working drawings for the installation.

Confirm the installation scope, site rules, work sequence, handover checks and responsibilities before ordering industrial storage lockers. These details determine how the lockers can be assembled and introduced without disrupting warehouse or workplace activity.

  • Define the installation scope. Confirm whether the quotation includes unloading, internal movement, assembly, positioning, fixing, adjustment and removal of packaging. It should also identify any work excluded from the locker installation.
  • Agree the work sequence. Ask how installers will move through the site and which areas require temporary exclusion. Confirm whether installation can take place in phases, particularly where stock, machinery or staff occupy nearby areas.
  • Set site access rules. Provide induction requirements, permitted routes, personal protective equipment rules and any permit arrangements before work starts. Identify pedestrian routes, vehicle movements and emergency exits that must remain usable.
  • Check building interfaces. Confirm whether lockers stand beside partitions, barriers, racking, benches or other workplace equipment. The layout should allow doors, vents and shared access points to function without striking nearby items.
  • Confirm services and obstructions. Mark out concealed or exposed electrical services, pipework, columns, skirting and other features affecting installation. This helps the working drawings show practical positions and avoids unplanned changes during assembly.
  • Plan delivery and staging. Confirm where the vehicle can unload, where components can be held temporarily and how materials reach the installation area. Restricted routes, shared entrances and internal level changes should form part of the delivery discussion.
  • Agree responsibility for preparation. Establish who clears stock, moves existing furniture and prepares the work area. Also confirm who reconnects or relocates nearby equipment if the agreed layout requires it.
  • Consider workplace use. Confirm when employees need access to changing areas, personal storage or shared equipment. The installation plan should account for door operation, circulation and the space needed to inspect or clean around the lockers.
  • Specify completion checks. Agree how the finished installation will be checked for alignment, door operation, stability, fixing and damage. Request confirmation of any outstanding items before the installation area returns to normal use.

Ask for the proposed installation arrangements to appear in the written proposal or working drawings. This creates a clear reference for locker positions, interfaces, responsibilities and agreed site conditions.

At Spartan Direct, we can discuss these requirements during a site meeting or survey. We can then develop the installation information around the building, workflow and intended use, rather than treating the lockers as separate items.

For projects requiring coordination, project management may continue from proposal and tender stage through installation and final commissioning. Confirm the intended scope, agreed dates and site responsibilities in writing, since quoted dates are estimates under our terms.

Plan for future changes before ordering. Confirm whether the locker arrangement may need expansion, relocation or altered door configurations.

Ask for the proposed layout to identify spare capacity and removable sections. This helps you compare an initial arrangement with possible changes to teams, shifts or storage needs.

Also agree what installation information, locker numbering and key records you will receive at handover. Clear records support controlled changes later.

We can discuss these requirements during consultation and reflect agreed arrangements in written proposals and working drawings.
