Zoggs Swimwear had outgrown their current distribution premises which they shared with the Swimming Teachers Association in Walsall. The premises were far from ideal with limited access in and out of the building.
As the business grew, Zoggs decided to look for their own dedicated distribution centre.
Having completed several small project over the past five years, Spartan were involved from the outset. Having come up with several layout options and discussed them all in detail, a definitive layout was agreed.
Spartan Project managed everything from the outset to ensure the project came in on time and budget. First to go in was the mezzanine floor, in one side of the building while the racking installation team worked simultaneously in the other. Once the mezzanine floor was in, the fire rating team followed straight on, while the racking team started dismantling the racking at the old site.
We had to work closely together to ensure the continuity of the business during the move as Zoggs clients couldn’t afford to be without stock during busy periods of business.
The whole move was completed ahead of time and on budget, which given that the start date was one week behind schedule due to the hand over of the building was an achievement.
“Ultimately we were able to create a seamless transition between premises while the company continued to run its day to day business, this was due in the main to the project management and coordination provided by Spartan. The mezzanine floor, racking and shelving are excellent too”
